Polish citizenship confirmation

Polish emigrants and their descendants who want to obtain a Polish passport need to have their Polish citizenship confirmed. The confirmation of Polish citizenship occurs after a relevant Polish department has issued a special decision. Persons who left Poland in the distant past or who were born abroad (as children or grand-children of Polish emigrants) have to check their Polish citizenship status (whether or not they still hold Polish citizenship). The service has prepared a special survey that allows to assess whether or not a person of Polish origin has lost his/her Polish citizenship. Those who still have Polish citizenship have the right to obtain the confirmation of their Polish citizenship.
