Legalization of foreign documents

Official foreign documents submitted at Polish departments (also in cases of applying for Polish passport) need to be legalized. Legalization can be done in a form of an apostille clause or consular legalization. Apostille is a form of an official confirmation on the basis of which official documents issued in one country (e.g. legal or administrative documents, etc.) can be recognized in another country. Citizens of the countries that signed the International Convention in Hague on October 5th, 1961 are obliged to obtain the apostille clause. Any official document with an apostille can be presented in front of any relevant authorities of all the countries that are parties of the Convention with no further legalization.
